About
Hello everyone! I'm Lavender Fire, a sapphic piano pop artist from Virginia.I'll describe my music like a cocktail: start with a base of alternative female artists like Tori Amos, Kate Bush, Regina Spektor, and Charlotte Martin. Then add in some LGBT representation in the form of Christine and the Queens. Then to top it off, throw in a dash of Disney for my mermaid singing voice!Someone asked me once why I get out of bed in the morning to create the music that I do. I told them why: so I can speak my truth. For so long, I hid from my truth: my sexuality. So I am driven to show that side to other people and make them feel like they're not alone. When you know you're LGBT, it can be a very lonely experience if you aren't around other folks like you. There’s no one else to talk to, no one else to look up to.I also want people to see that LGBT folks are everywhere. We’re your friends. We’re your neighbors. We’re the people who pass you on the street. The more people see us, the more people won’t be able to deny our experiences. What I hope to do through my music is to be that light for someone hiding in the closet who is struggling with themselves the way I did.

Press
"Lavender Fire's "Roommates" is an atmosphere-heavy, 80s-style electronic pop track that takes listeners on a journey through the heady, undefined space between friendship, love, and societal expectations. With its ethereal, free-flowing vocal performance, ambiance-filled arrangement, and bold lyrical content, the song crafts a vivid emotional landscape that’s both introspective and defiant. It's a track that’s steeped in nostalgic synth textures yet speaks to the complexities of modern relationships in a way that will undoubtedly resonate with many a listener. On the surface, the song is about two people who live together in a platonic arrangement, yet the repeated refrain, “We’re just roommates,” hints at something much deeper—a relationship that defies the conventional norms of how society categorizes connections between women." - From RadioAirplayClick below to listen!
