For fans of: ethereal and alternative female artists such as Tori Amos, Kate Bush, and Charlotte Martin, as well as LGBT-friendly artists such as Christine and the QueensWho is Lavender Fire?Start with a base of alternative female artists, then add in some LGBT representation. To top it all off, throw in a dash of Disney for her mermaid singing voice.And there you have the music of Lavender Fire in a nutshell.Lavender Fire is a sapphic piano-based singer/songwriter from southeastern Virginia. She makes contemplative and moody piano-led pop music in the vein of Tori Amos, Kate Bush and Charlotte Martin. Her first single as Lavender Fire, a song called Lavender Fire, was released in late summer 2024, followed by Roommates, in January 2025, and a third single, She's My Ocean, was released in April 2025. After playing at open mics and singer/songwriter showcases all over the Virginia Beach area, Lavender Fire released her first full-length album, From Shadows to Light on September 22, 2025 to great acclaim.

From Shadows to Light
One of the most memorable aspects about the new album release from Lavender Fire is the sheer fact that she's able to paint such vivid pictures in your head as songs unfold. Her lyrical approach is very personal but also very storytelling, so you can connect with them on different levels. This is a record that certainly lets the artist give pieces of herself along the way, and I'm a huge fan of that simply because I want that from a record like this.The album is called From Shadows to Light, and it showcases how the artist is able to be somewhat vulnerable but let certain songs come through on an almost universal level. A lot of them are very relatable but again, you end up getting pulled into the storytelling behind the songs.A lot of this is because she can be so descriptive in her lyrics. She is detailed and lets that emotion sort of take over. - Buzzslayers review
From Shadows to Light is a stripped down, very intimate release by Lavender Fire. Instrumentally, each song contains only vocal and piano performance. I think this has been the most powerful representation of her music as the music relies so heavily on the content of the songwriting; and that is something that she is very passionate about.
Opening with The Arsonist, Lavender Fire wasted no time jumping right into the heavy, as she illustrates a metaphor of taking a match to her past life, everything she had known of life, and walked away from a marriage; a life that was a hiding place for her identity.
From Shadows to Light is powerful in this intimacy. I have the feeling of sitting in a rehearsal studio with Lavender Fire behind a piano, singing each song to me. She’s not performing.
